After her husband died, Naomi’s sons married Ruth and Orpah. Yet, the sons soon died as well, so the three women were left alone.

In that time, women needed the men of their family to take care of them, so Naomi told the daughters-in-law to go back to their homes.

Orpah returned home, but Ruth promised never to leave Naomi’s side. God had a plan for Ruth and Naomi and protected them on their journey home to Bethlehem.
